Watching movies for free

with one comment

When Sunday comes along all I want to do is just relax, put my feet up, and drink some ice cold martini while Huz is busy firing up the grill…ahhh that’s life!

But what actually happens on a Sunday is cleaning the house, planning and scheduling next week’s work, going to church and getting the laundry done…*sigh* if there is one thing permanent in every household it’s laundry! Don’t you just wish we had self-cleaning clothes?

Now when all the work is done. We do relax. Sometimes it means going on a road trip, especially when the weather is nice and sunny. Or, we just lie in bed and watch some movies online for Freeeeee!

Thanks to my twitter friends I discovered this site where I can watch some really great films. I’d like to share the sites with you.

First is Justin.tv

justin.tv

I’ve been on Justin.tv since March 2009. I can keep abreast of what’s happening in NY by watching the local TV channels there. I can get a preview of the coolest video games as the players broadcast their game. I can watch movies, stand up comedians, and documentary films too. Just last night, I watched GI Joe…although I didn’t enjoy it as much because I didnt like GI Joe when I was young…it’s a girl thing.

The other site I go to is watch-movies-links.net

movies.net

You can watch the latest movies here and they have a great selection of documentary films too! Last night I watched the Orphan and it really scared the beejeezus out of me! It’s one of the best scary films I watched in a long time! I also watched the documentary of BBC called Meerkat and it was so wonderful! The children would love it! Timone from Disney’s Lion King is a meerkat and I love him!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. And while you’re watching a movie at home, here’s a drink I’d like to share to all of you. Cheers to Summer!

Movie Martes: Monsters VS Aliens, and Afro Samurai Resurrection

with 3 comments

What’s playing in movie houses right now? I have no idea  :) but here I am again to give you another dose of Movies to watch out for. For today’s Movie Martes I’d like to share with you two animated films: Monsters VS Aliens and Afro Samurai: Resurrection.

Monster VS Aliens

Reminds me of Monster Inc.

This would probably be the film that would force me to go to SM Mall of Asia just to watch a movie.  This is a story about a California girl named Susan Murphy (Ginormica) who was clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day. She mysteriously transforms to 49-foot tall monster and was captured by the government compound. There, she joins the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their lives get interesting when Aliens soon start arriving on earth!

This film features the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie (House), Will Arnett, Seth Rogen and Rainn Wilson.

These monsters were also featured in the Superbowl commercial

Really Cool! It will be out in March 2009!

Afro Samurai:Resurrection

Now this is one violent, bloody, kick ass film! Afro Samurai is a  Japanese dōjinshi manga series created by Takashi Okazaki. This movie was aired on  Spike TV on January 25, 2009. It features the voices of Samuel Jackson as “Afro” and Lucy Liu as “Sio”.

Because of the violence in this film,  don’t let your kids watch it. However, for big “kids” like us, the animation and soundtrack will blow your mind away. The soundtrack called The RZA Presents Afro Samurai: Resurrection, was made available physically and digitally on January 27th, 2009 through RZA’s label Wu Music Group and features Rah Digga, Kool G. Rap and members & Affiliates of the Wu-Tang Clan. I just love the soundtrack! It’s great to listen to when you’re driving or working out.

Watch it and let me know if you like it :) Until next Tuesday!

Movie Martes: Button and Bride Wars

without comments

With all the movies to watch, I had a lot of fun watching this two. Some of you may have already watched it, and I bet you enjoyed them as much as I did. For those of you who haven’t seen this film yet, it’s time you did!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I love this movie, not only because it has Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in it, but the story melts in your mind like chocolate and leaves you with that sugar rush and a “WOW” even after the credits have rolled and you know you should get up and go pee.

This film was inspired by  the 1921 short story written by “the Great Gatsby” F. Scott Fitzgerald. I just love Benjamin’s character! It shows us how growing “old” is not so much different from being young.

I remember growing up as the only child in the house. I copied their behavior (I wasn’t allowed to watch TV back then), I drank coffee (I was only three years old), read the dailies (the funnies page mostly) beside my Grandfather and Dad, and listened to AM Stations, country music, and even tried to apply pomade (Tancho gel) in my hair. Just like Benjamin, I didn’t know how to act my age. I wasn’t “babied”, I was treated like one of them. You can say I was able to relate to the first part of the film.

I was also attracted by the love story between Benjamin and Daisy. The only thing that I didn’t like was how Benjamin got “old” or should I say “young”. It’s just weird for you to grow 5 or 6 feet tall then end up as an infant. I would have liked a Big Benjamin, but with Baby-like facial features. I hate the last scenes of Benjamin. That is just so mean! If you’re pregnant, you wouldn’t want to see that part.

Still, it’s a Great film. If you’ve already seen it, watch it again! It gets better the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time around :)

Bride Wars

For someone who hates all the hullabaloo about weddings, I really had some great laughs in this film. Don’t you just love girl fights :) I know I do. Some girls really do go overboard just to get even. But just like in the film, girls are still made of  ”sugar, and spice, and everything nice” that you can’t help but forgive them.

Weddings pass, people come and go, but real friendship is forever :)

10 Movies We Can’t Wait to See

without comments

This blog is from the article written by Brian Tallerico of thedeadbolt

What was the last movie you watched?

After watching Big Stan, the rest of the flicks at the movie house didnt seem that interesting (although I haven’t seen tropic thunder just yet)

Im so looking forward to the coming movies that will be released this fall, and it looks like we have something worth waiting for. This is what Brian has to say:

Many entertainment outlets play it safe this time of year, refusing to play favorites and pretending that they’re just as excited for Madagascar 2 as they are for Quantum of Solace. We’re calling b.s. on that kind of fall movie preview. We’re ready to rank, based on early buzz, previews, and potential.
